The rest of the story.  The background color on this is a little different from the bottom, a warmer yellow.  Something that will irritate the stuffing out of those who need everything to match.
Happy Halloween!

This one is a bit of a tease, as it does connect with the top half, which will be tomorrow's piece.  But the occasional person does like this one as is, without it's mate.  The background color leans to green, obviously printed on dress pattern tissue.  See you back here tomorrow!

This striking bird wings his way across the canvas...a little much perhaps?
Black printed over an almost neutral green, if all else fails, put a bird on it!

Charcoal grey on lemony yellow.  A sweet, but very formal piece.  Interested in commissioning a group of striking, formal (elle)ements in a particular color?  Let's talk!

#1256 (sold)

A bright red bee will get some attention.  Printed on rice paper, hence all the visible fibers.

Bubbles? Pebbles? I'm not sure either.
The arrow is from the dress pattern tissue it is printed on, and the background is sort of a dirty turquoise.  Which is much prettier than it sounds.

#1261 (sold)

One of my favorite images, this is part of the puppet from the large piece appropriately titled "Puppet"  I just looked back on my dresspainting blog and found I never wrote a post on that piece, but you can see it in progress here...
The background is a washy grape color, and puppet is printed in almost black on rice paper.

Today's little piece features a street scene from one of my favorite places.
Printed on rice paper, the background is a purplish grey, or perhaps even mauve.

A polar bear wearing a crown.  Printed on rice paper over a minty green background.  He does think he's pretty special doesn't he?

Out of control.

They are everywhere.
As you know, I post a new (elle)ement each day.  I also take them to shows.
Some are in boxes, some are beside my desk, many have been sold and have either been shipped, or are waiting in piles to be shipped.  But those that haven't sold are building up.
So here is the deal, below are three photos showing all the (elle)ements I have put up on the blog that haven't sold.  They will be available here until Monday when I box them up and put them into my inventory that goes with me to shows.  Next up, by the way, is RiverArts Fest in Memphis, TN next weekend!
And just to sweeten the pot, I'll take 10% off any sales of these through Sunday night.
As usual, if you find four you like, I'll ship them for free.
Here we have, in no particular order
Group 1
Group 2

And group 3

And just to get you thinking, here are some groups I pulled out of the sea of availables...
Four focusing on purple and green.

Six subtle pieces, they would sing in a pale room, or at a beach house perhaps?

9 that just pop with reds and graphic images.
And another 9, just for fall, or lovers of fall colors.

Interested in one, or a bunch?  At $22.50 each, you can afford a treat!
Send me an email with your choices, obviously they will be first come first serve.

#965 (sold)

A tangerine frock, with just a touch of rick rack.  These little dresses go fast, perhaps I should be in the studio making another?

#1223 (sold)

The background on this bathing beauty is closer to what I would call, "minty fresh toothpaste green" than the grey it appears on my computer screen.  The original block print came from a family photograph.  The subject, a woman so memorable that we still hear stories decades later.
My kinda woman.

#1134 (sold)

The red pattern on this piece practically seems to levitate off the surface of the canvas.  Complimentary colors will do that to each other, and warm colors like red do it best.

#1154 (sold)

Warm pink and grey are the stars in this graphic little piece.  A chunk of a damask pattern, printed on dress pattern tissue.  Enjoy!

#1236 (sold)

A beautiful bright piece.  It feels like summer and hummingbirds to me.
What about you?

#1235 (sold)

A foggy, misty, grey kinda piece.  With a pattern that looks like lace, pretty, washy, I wonder where it will go.

#1234 (sold)

It's a red dot.
Now it may not mean much to you, but to an artist, a red dot is a wonderful thing.  And the number is kinda special too.  I wonder who will snatch this one up?

Pretty Bird (to be numbered) (sold)

This piece, like all the others I'll be putting up this week has a washy transparent background  The bird is printed on rice paper to let all the warm amber color shine through.

#1109 (sold)

Two plum leaves over a pale green background.  The print is on rice paper thin enough that the brushstrokes are visible in the background.

#1150 (sold)

Melon, spring green, and layers.  Just a pretty thing.

Thursday, October 3, 2013

Red Hen (sold)

A bright red hen to add a little pop to your collection perhaps?  The white bits are fibers from the rice paper the hen is printed on.  This red isn't for sissies by the way, but my collectors aren't art sissies. Enjoy!
