On target with #286 (sold) and #430(sold)

Here are two different takes on the same symbol, the target.  They are actually two different prints from two different lino blocks.  The one above is #286, and reminds me of ripples in a pool.  A mossy green, with creamy yellow bands.  Printed on rice paper, the fibers are visible.

The bottom one is #428, a warm brick red on a golden yellow background.  The background color comes mostly from the color of the vintage pattern paper it is printed on.  Either one is a dramatic addition to your collection.

#322 (sold!)

Today's piece plays with the darker end of the pallet, mid grey and black.  Little tufts of white are visible from the rice paper. Patterns, although beautiful on their own are great for alternating with each other, or to break up a bunch of competing images.  Enjoy this dramatic piece, and I'll see what I can put together for tomorrow.

#218 (sold)

Here is today's new piece, #218.  A modern damask pattern printed on rice paper.  The whole color correcting thing is probably going to make me a little crazy, as this looks quite different on my laptop than it did on my ipad.  But the background is a celery green, with the pattern in a creamy white.  Like all the rest, it is 4" square. $25

#427 (sold)

Good morning! Here is today's (elle)ement.  #427 is what I call "a quiet one".  Some of these pieces are bright and busy, full of color or pattern.  And some, for balance, are quiet, simple, they offer a little breathing room to their counterparts.  If you have a collection, or are planning on starting one, I suggest that in addition to those that are your favorites, you choose a few that help all the others get along in a group.  A few that give the eye a rest, as it moves from one to another, a quiet one.

This is a simple pattern of abstract flowers, cool grey on a warm background, with just a hint of markings from the pattern printing visible.  $25

And a Tufted Titmouse for all you bird fans out there, again, printed in a warm grey on pattern tissue.
Enjoy, and come back after Christmas to see what else is new! #426

Fresh work! #424(sold) and #425 (sold)

Good morning (elle)ements fans!  Here are today's offerings.  And just in case you are viewing this on an Iphone, or Ipad let me fill you in... The next time you get to a full grown computer, look this page up again, because there is much more information than you can see here. (Or you can click where it says "View full site")  The price for all of these little babies is $25 each.  They are all acrylic and tissue on 4" square canvases.  Shipping is $5 for up to three and FREE if there are 4 or more in a box when it leaves my studio.  So here we go...

The one above is a brand new image, #424 is a bit of a spider mum, in a brick red on a warm gold background.  Perfect for a warm group, or a nice little block of warm in an otherwise cool group.  No worries, I will talk about ways to arrange your (elle)ements in the future.

And this one, #425 is a fiery combo of red orange and mauve.  Also known as an analogous discord for you color theory fans.  This piece was printed on pattern tissue, hence the bit of text.  If upside down text makes you itch, flip it over, it looks good either way.

That's it for today, check back on Monday, I'll have something fresh.  And please tell your friends, how else will they know what you want for Christmasnewyearsvalentinesbirthday?

The first post! Numbers 233, (sold) 285, (sold) and 423(sold)

Here they are, the first three!  I'll add at least one new (elle)ement a day, but some days I'll add more, just to keep it interesting.  The one above is #233.  One of 4 little dresses I currently have available.  Printed on dress pattern tissue, the image is a deep charcoal grey.  A neutral that will go with any color, warm, or cool.

This warm red pattern piece is #285.  All of these pieces are 4" square on canvas.  This one is printed on rice paper, you can see the white fibers.  Some folks collect patterns exclusively, some break them up with "things," it is entirely up to you.

And the third for today is the chicken!  He/she is #423.  Again printed on pattern paper, a nice warm neutral that will play well with either a warm or cool color scheme.  Although there is a touch of glare on this one it is a nice solid black print on dress pattern tissue.
That's it for today, let me know if you have any questions, or if you want to purchase. kallencole@aol.com
