#554 (sold)

#554 is a playful little thing.  Polka dots, pebbles on a beach?  The colors sing, turquoise on yellow green. The colors are so intense because this one was printed on rice paper, a few white fibers are visible.  See you tomorrow with the last popping pattern!

#557 (sold)

You may have to be a bit of a color theory junkie to appreciate this one. It is pretty close to a complimentary discord.  The complimentary part of that phrase points out that the yellow green and reddish purple are at opposite sides of the color wheel. And discord points out that the value (ie the lightness or darkness of a color) of the purple has been lightened to a similar value as the yellow. What that all boils down to is it causes a thing in your eye called reticulation. A vibration of sorts.

I'm bet this is too much information. I probably shouldn't even go into the contrast between the transparency of the background versus the opacity of the lattice. So I'll just cut this short, and say Hey! Look at this, it's pretty cool!

#553 (sold)

Ka-pow!  Here is a little off the chart color to get your heart started. A magenta flourish on a bright banana yellow. It doesn't get more tropical than this. I'm pretty sure I can hear a Margarita in a blender somewhere.

#552 (sold)

Good morning!  Today's (elle)ement kicks off a week of patterns that pop!  People often use pattern pieces in their block of (elle)ements to fill the space between their favorite "things". But these patterns are strong enough to play all by themselves thank you very much!  Today's piece is black on a citrusy lime green, yummy.

#498 (sold)

If you have been waiting for a pop of color, this may be the one. A geranium printed in white over a bright red background. A few creases add surface texture. See you back here on Monday!
Maybe I need to do something a little different on Monday?  I wonder what that would be?

A peony in robin's egg blue on grey.  Flecks of rice paper are visible. Simple, and pretty.

#348 (sold!)

It's been a while since we've had a pretty little flourish. These work well a a start or finish to a line or a corner in a block. Strong enough to be able to contain the busyness within.  Is busyness a word? It is now. Enjoy! $25, just like all the others. Visit the blog in "web version" to see all the details to purchase.

The last of the plum crazy collection!  For now anyway.  Groovy blooms on a mauve background, I wonder what will be tomorrow's (elle)ement?  At this point, even I don't know!

#536 (sold)

A sliver of spider mum on a mauve background is today's plum crazy piece!  $25 each, like all the (elle)ements.  And tomorrow I'll have a different take on the floral, stay tuned.

#527 (sold)

I'll be going plum crazy for the next few days, so I thought I'd group a few plum or purple pieces together, this is the first.  Purple leaves on pattern paper, with a greenish hued background.  See you back here on Monday for more!

Happy Valentine's Day! #540 & 541 (both sold)

A matching set for all you lovebirds out there!  #540 is on the right, #541 on the left, they are slightly different in color, but look great together.  After this week, if they haven't sold, I am fine with breaking the set up.  Enjoy your day, no matter how you spend it!

Chase away, or celebrate the blues with today's (elle)ement.

Good morning all, we are starting the week off right with a little funky blue chicken. In real life, the blue is not so intense, more wedgewood, but close counts, it is Monday after all!

A bone white zinnia on pattern tissue is the (Elle)ement du jour.  That's the big finish for this week, see you bright and earlyish Monday morning!

#480 brings a blast of color to any group.  The background is robin's egg blue overlayed with a pattern in a fresh lime green.  Pretty, frilly, and all that stuff.

A shooting star to start your day!  Thanks to all the folks who passed the link to my blog around yesterday, it was a lot of fun (for me anyhow.)  You all deserve a gold star!  This one, like all the others is $25, and would be a great place to start your collection.

fresh out of the studio, #479 (sold)

Starting the week off with a hot pink sliver of a geranium.  The background is a warm honey yellow, just in case you've forgotten spring is on the way.

#396 (sold)

This pretty bird has been tucked away in my "favorite" pile for a while.  It has two layers of prints, one on pattern tissue, and one on rice paper.  One of the thick fibers from the rice paper curled around the bird's breast, a perfect happy accident.  $25, just like all the others.  See you Monday!
