#282(sold)

Today's piece is certainly red hot.  The red is a fiery red orange, flecked with fibers from the rice paper.  I'm sure I'll have a new theme for next week, I just don't know what it is yet, so I guess we can all be surprised on Monday morning!

I always see this bright red devilled egg in a retro kitchen.  Y'know, the one with the red Formica table and chairs, and gingham curtains.  But you can put it anywhere you want!  Enjoy, one more red one coming up tomorrow.

A contemporary dotty pattern, of deep, almost rusty red over pale pink.  Printed on rice paper, so the colors are clean and true.  Now to get out there and make or find something red hot for tomorrow!

Another red hot, today's has a leafy motif in contrasting celery green. The composition dissected by an arrow from the dress pattern tissue it was printed on. Yes, I do stuff like that on purpose, I can't help it!

This beauty really pops, a cerulean blue over deep red. The fibers of the rice paper add a little sparkle of white. This is one of those pieces that gets attention, enjoy, and we will be back tomorrow with more red hots.

Add a touch or royalty to your collection, a crown fit for a queen on an antique French blue. This combines nicely with a bee to make a "queen bee" duo. Come back next week for a week of red hots!

A subtle, quiet leaf pattern flows across today's piece. Perfect for the quiet sleepy morning I am enjoying. Only one more day of the blues. This weekend you'll find me and my work at the Bayou City Arts Festival in Houston, TX. Drop on by and say hello!

Today's bit of blues is a deep midnight over a seafoam green.
We may have to invent a new style, retro-elegant to cover this one.

Here we go, the first in a week of "the blues."  A simple repeat pattern on a wheat background. This piece is printed on rice paper, the little white fibers are visible. We will see you back here tomorrow.

Spread joy.  Not a bad ending to the week.  Perhaps you could spread a little joy today?  Next week I've decided to bring on the blues baby!  See you back here on Monday!

Good morning!  Attempting to post via iPhone while zooming down I-75. And to make it all a little more complicated I left my list of (elle)ement numbers and descriptions on my desk in the studio. So we will be flying by the seat of my pants for the next week and a bit.

So here we have "pass it on" another badge from the philanthropy project. Almost black print on a neutral beige background. See you back here tomorrow for the final one in this series!

If you have been watching this blog for long, you have probably seen this little deviled egg.  For the purpose of this project, I've turned it into a "Good Egg" simply by adding a stamp of approval!  It's almost like two (elle)ements for the price of one.  Have a good day, good eggs.

Good morning good people!  If you haven't taken a look at my dresspainting blog yet to find out what this weeks batch of (elle)ements is all about, here it is... www.dresspaintings.blogspot.com
#571 is a simple, almost black print on a dress pattern.  The background is a neutral beige.  See you back here tomorrow!

Ok, I'll admit, I am up to something. And this has something to do with it, but that's about all I am giving up this morning. How's that for a tease?  Ok, I will tell you something else, there will be more, just like this one. In fact all of the (elle)ements this week will be in cahoots with this one, both in style and substance. And I will give up the story sometime this week..  Stay tuned.

Another little dress rounds out this week of (elle)ements.  I'm not sure what next weeks theme will be, but I am enjoying posting them as a group.  See you back here on Monday, and I'll let us both know!

A simple little frock in the palest of blues with two shiny buttons. Printed on pattern tissue, no text this time, the only give away is the visibility of the warm fibers toning down the blue. Enjoy, and come back tomorrow!

Here she is!  The second part of yesterday's post.  This "puppet" is part of a new piece on the easel, maybe she will be done this week?

#566 (Sold)

Today's, I have to admit, is a bit of a tease.  There is another piece, specifically her head, which can, but doesn't have to go with this one. And even when it does, it doesn't fit exactly side by side. Just nearby, so she can find it, when she notices she has lost it. This is another element of the painting that  includes the bear from yesterday. And yes, I'll let you know when it is finished, whenever that may be.

The first new "character" of the week, a crown wearing polar bear on a washy teal/ turquoise background. This is an element of a big piece I hope to be finishing up this week.  I'll give him a number soon, when I have both eyes open and my wheels on the ground. See you back here tomorrow!

The final in this group of patterns that pop is a show stopper. Heavy dominant text and a row of hearts on a background of tangerine and hot pink.  This was a transfer sheet in a pattern for "dressy aprons". The apron you wore around the house and tried not to get dirty?  I can promise you, there will only be one just like this, so get it while it's hot!
