#763 (sold)

Another on a washy background, if these aren't your favorite, have no fear, I'll move on to something else soon!  Antique blue seems to be the perfect pair, add a fleur de lis, and I start thinking about Paris.  See you back here bright and early Monday!

A soft grey crown on an almost yellow ochre background.  A great piece to pair with a bee, to make a queen bee duo, or just to add to your collection.

#750 (sold)

As you can see, I am enjoying this transparent washy background.  You can expect to see more like this.  Opaque charcoal grey on rice paper over a watercolor like wash.  This one really shows off the cuts in the lino block. See you back here tomorrow!

to be numbered (sold)

It's a dead giveaway when I've titled a post "to be numbered" that I woke up early and got this little number done just in time.  Probably with the help of a blow dryer. Today's piece is a sliver of a scene above a market in the South of France.  Wrought iron, flower pots and wooden windows.  Printed in almost black over a cool washy blue background.  There is just a touch of text from the dress pattern it was printed on along the bottom. Enjoy.

#444 (sold)

#444 is a super graphic piece, with text that those of you who sew are sure to recognize.  A beautiful opaque purple over transparent avocado green.  Being a child from the 70's it still amazes me that I could ever like avocado green again, but I do.  Harvest gold is kinda pretty too!
Enjoy!

#399 (sold)

I carved this trillium for a commission piece last year, it came out swimmingly.  So here it is on a pale robin's egg blue.  Printed on rice paper, you can see the flecks of white fiber. Enjoy this beautiful weekend, and see you Monday!

#527 (sold)

Purple leaves lay across a very patterny background of almost green.  A piece like this is a good choice to end a line of (elle)ements, it's composition is almost like a period.  It would also do well anywhere on the right side of a block.  And while you are surfing around, take a look at my "other" page, I just posted some new work.  www.dresspaintings.blogspot.com

to be numbered (sold)

The fun thing for me with these little pieces is I get to experiment, and show off new thoughts before any big canvases emerge.  I have just started playing with soft transparent layers of soft, wiped color.  Like this.  New leaf linoleum block, on rice paper.

#718 (sold)

A little rick rack runs down the front of this dress.  Printed in black on a robin's egg blue background, it has a couple lines of text from the dress pattern darting across the bottom.  See you back here tomorrow!

It's been a while since we've seen a shooting star around here.  Deep charcoal on a putty colored background.  Enjoy.

Topping off a week of blue and white with a turquoise crown on a pale green background.  Dart lines and arrows complete the composition, and this piece completes another week.  See you Monday!

#747 (sold)

A frilly pattern in blue on cream.  I know it looks blue, and I should re shoot the photo, but in the meantime, think blue on cream.  This piece looks lovely with the last two, if you are thinking of a trio.  Gift idea anyone?

#746 (sold)

A new daisy trio in creamy white on a Wedgewood blue.  There are lots of white fibers from the rice paper visible.  Enjoy, and come back tomorrow, tomorrow's will be fancy.

Even though it looks as blue as the sky in this photo, the background on this piece is cream, or bone white.  That's what I get for taking outdoor shots in the cool morning light.  So here you have it, the first of a week of blue and white.  The pattern itself is blue, a wedgewoody blue, on bone white.  Really.

#411 (sold)

Let's wind up this week with a noisy megaphone.  Printed in black on a dress pattern.  I am planning on a week of blue and white starting Monday, so come on back and see if I've managed to pull it off.

#614 (sold)

A pair of spring green leaves cuts across a warm grey background, intersected by strong diagonal  pattern lines.  Can you tell I went to art school yet?  That's it for today, see you back here tomorrow!

#469 (sold)

Today's piece is a little chunk of an eye chart used in my "Four Eyes" piece.  A soft green on gold.  A fun bit of text for the font junkies.  Enjoy!  See you tomorrow.

#3 (sold)

So, going through my (elle)ements at a show this weekend, I cam across this one.  The earliest known (elle)ement in my captivity.  Deep teal blue overlapping rings on a grey background.  Y'know, just in case you are a numbers kinda person.

#700 (sold)

700?  It's kinda shocking to me that I've made over 700 of these little babies in the last year and a bit.  But onward and upward...Today's little number is a beach baby, laying in the sand, the background color is kinda sandy.  Enjoy!

#690 (sold)

A simple ending to the week, white circles over a warm grey background, with chunky bits of text to remind you that it is printed on a sewing pattern.  Be sure to come back Monday, I am starting with #700, and she is a sweetheart.

#687 (sold)

This black and white reminds me a bit of a full moon.  Three different whites over black, very graphic, I kinda like it.  One more day of this group...

#689 (sold)

The first time I ever saw anyone work in black on black was when I saw Andy Warhol's Wicked Witch at the Art Gallery of Greater Vancouver.  I loved it, black glitter against a matte black.  This piece reminds me of that a little, and is warming me up for my next big dress piece, Black Sheep.
Until then, here you have it, a black trillium, on rice paper, over charcoal grey.  A beauty.
